Barnes and Nobles Summer Reading!

The Rome Barnes and Nobles will have a kickoff tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. for their summer reading program. The Rome Braves will be there with Romey! They will be handing out the reading log for the summer program which includes rewards of free books. I wish we could go to this but we have a game at 10:00. You all should go and take your baseball. Brian McCann started in Rome and we met him at the library doing something just like this. You never know whose autograph you might be getting.

Restaurants include the Great American Grill in Cartersville, Johnny's New York Style Pizza in Cartersville and Wow Cafe and Wingery in Rome.

Don't forget CiCi's Pizza in Cartersville, next to Target, will be donating 20% of all proceeds to United Way of Bartow County specifically for storm victims. That's roughly $2.50 per family and could add up! Make sure you pass this on!

Chick-Fil-A Fam Grab! YUM

Anyone who knows me at all knows how much me and the girls LOVE, LOVE Chick-Fil-A so this deal makes me haaaappy. You can get $20 worth of food for $10 at four locations in Atlanta - one of those being Chastain which is on the way to Town Center so definitely doable. That is exit 271 off of 75, take a left and you will see it on the left.

Roman Roast on the River is at Ridge Ferry Park this weekend. Kids 7 and under are free and adults are $5. All slots are full for competing teams so there should be some good eats out there.




Bartow 10th annual duck derby is this Saturday. Follow the link to learn about the derby and the full day of entertainment scheduled for a great cause. You can also buy your ducks on that page for a chance to win a new car! I have never been but it sounds like fun and I plan on going this year. Everyone should see 15,000 rubber ducks racing to the finish line at least once in their life.

Right now movies at Cartersville Carmike are only $5 for any movie that starts between 4:00 and 5:30 and Tuesday is stimulus Tuesday with $1 popcorn and $1 drinks. I am excited about some great family friendly movies coming out soon.

The Rome Braves will be back in town this weekend for games Friday and Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. If you haven't taken your family out to homerun hill for a night of baseball, you are missing out! Also, they have $1 deal kiddy corner including french fries, hot dogs or coke. Homerun Hill tickets are $4 a piece and are great with little ones because they can run around and make friends instead of being confined to a seat.

They do not expire for one year and I like to give a code to the person in front of me or behind me. It's not much but a free movie is nice!

Father/son fun!

Chick-Fil-A in Calhoun is having a father/son camp out that sounds like fun! It's only $10 per person and includes dinner, breakfast and a midnight snack. Check it out!

May is Strawberry month!

Two area farms have a self picking farm. Grab your baskets and pick until your heart is content.

Spring has sprung!

With Spring comes new things - flowers, family outtings and a new blog! Sounds about right. I had this idea a few weeks ago when I realized how many web pages I frequented to get the community news. Adairsville is 9 miles from Calhoun, 19 miles from Cartersville, 14 miles to downtown Rome, 60 miles to Chattanooga and 60 short highway miles to Atlanta - something is always going on but we don't always hear about it. I hope we can share money saving ideas, family outting plans, sound off when we need to and introduce local companies we can use!
